Everything is seed
2021, FASER STOFF PAPIER, Großderschau, oil paper, wire, paste, 4 x circa 160 x 100 x 100 cm
Just waiting at the site of the former train station in Großderschau, then as now. Waiting, however, does not bring about any change at this huge wasteland in the middle of the village.
It requires an impetus - action.
Everything is seed.
The gesture of sowing is the overture to the gesture of waiting. Finding peace in the engagement and involvement with the emergence and growth in nature is finding more and more enthusiasts and seems particularly meaningful in the current time.
Seeds are bridges between the past and the future. They are the future of the past. In them lies the eternal, the survival over long periods of time, but also the fleeting and ephemeral at the same time. Seeds are the original and at the same time the perpetuation of life.
Most of them are very tiny and can hardly be seen. But a closer look reveals an astonishing wealth of shapes. Each seed is unique in its form.
Oversized seeds made of paper are scattered about the railway grounds. What will emerge from them?
The fragment by Novalis „Everything is a seed” (1798) refers to the future. What we are doing thus makes sense.
